Lake Ogascanan
is located 310 miles due north of Toronto, Ontario. A five hour drive from Toronto
brings you to Temiscaming, Quebec. From there a bush road winds
through 60 miles of remote wilderness and brings you to the Main Camp. If you're
looking to get into better fishing, you've got to get off the beaten path. In this 60 mile
stretch of road you won't find any gas stations or restaurants, nobody lives in here ....
you're just going farther and farther into the bush. When you arrive at the Main Camp,
you'll know you've left civilization behind! The most frequently asked question when new
guests arrive: "How did you ever find this place?" Don't
worry, we're going to send you good travel directions.
The vehicle of choice is a pick-up truck, van or any kind of SUV;
4-wheel-drive is not essential. Keep in mind that this is a bush road
and there are places where you will have to go slow regardless of the kind of vehicle you
are driving. The approximate driving time will be 2.5 hours; if you're pulling a boat or
any kind of trailer, it will be longer.
"What about the drive on this bush road?"
Folks, if it's easy to get to it's been fished. The road to Ogascanan totally
eliminates the possibility of day fisherman; that is, nobody drives in ... fishes for the
day ... and goes home that evening, it's just too far in the bush. It's probably going to
take you about 2.5 hours on the bush road, but think of it this way: every
revolution your tires make on that road increases your chances for fishing success. Our
high rate of return guests proves that it's worth the drive. So sit back, relax, and spend
some time gettin' a little mud on your tires. |
